Ashley Tran, B.Ed.
Student Intern Counsellor
Ashley is currently a student in the Master of Education in the Educational Psychology program at the University of Regina. She has joined Family Hope Counselling and Training Centre Inc. to complete the practicum portion of her studies under the supervision of Krystal Hawkins, M.Ed., Registered Psychologist. She has completed all her coursework and is required to complete 300-400 hours of work experience to successfully graduate from the Master of Education (Counselling Psychology) program.
Ashley is available August 2023-Decemeber 2023 to provide *reduced rate* in-person and virtual services. She is available Wednesday, Thursday, and Fridays. She is an experienced elementary school teacher who is committed to providing best-practice counselling services for individuals, children, and families. Her therapeutic approach includes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Attachment Theory, and Childhood Development. LeeAnne is passionate about helping individuals through loss, life transitions and navigating relationships. She provides in-person and virtual services Monday-Thursday, including some evenings. She is passionate about working with emerging adults (ages 18 – 29), couples, women, seniors, and those experiencing grief. Her goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment working alongside others to achieve their desired outcomes in the midst of change. Her approach to therapy includes Systemic and Narrative practices while integrating well-researched methods including, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. Melissa Verheyen, M.A.

Canadian Certified Counsellor with CCPA Melissa is a co-founder of Family Hope, a military spouse, and a mother of four daughters. She has lived in Saskatchewan, Ontario, New York, and currently lives in New Brunswick. She provides virtual services Monday-Friday between 8 am-noon. Melissa walks alongside individuals (16+) to cultivate healing and desired change, drawing heavily on Narrative Therapy as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She has recently completed Grief and Trauma-Focused ACT training and continues to pursue ongoing professional development.
